2010 York River Cup Results

From Southern Bay Racing News You Can Use (SBRNYCU) #509:

Dream On , skipper Steve Bowen and crew,  are winners of the 2010  York River Cup.  Boats gathered to contest The Cup on a  beautiful Fall day with winds NE 10-13, temps in the mid 70s and clear skies. RESULTS:  Spinnaker Fleet: 1. Rumble - Ben Weeks/Michele Cochran; 2.  Movin On - Mike Austin;  3.Bellatrix - Gary Van Tassel.   Non-Spinnaker Fleet: 1.Dream On - Steve Bowen; 2. Hornet - Brian Gregory; 3. Midnight Rider - John Haracivet.  Race Chairman -  Mike Mastracci.

2010 York River Cup

The 2010 York River Cup is scheduled for Saturday September 18th with a 12:30 PM rendezvous in the vicinity of York River R"22".  This CBYRA sanctioned regatta has two planned races.  Entries are due by September 16th.  A post regatta social is planned for 1700 with dinner following at 1800.  Complete details can be found in the sailing instructions.

2010 Admiral Cup Results

ADMIRAL'S CUP goes to RUMBLE -  Ben Weeks and the crew of Rumble persevered in light air for 11 very  loooooooooong  miles on Saturday to win the annual Admiral's Cup, co-hosted by York River Yacht Club and Seaford Yacht Club.  The dearth of air did not deter the racers from  the party hosted by Seaford Yacht Club.  Results:  Spinnaker (4 boats): 1.Ben Weeks & Michele Cochran, Rumble;  2.Jim Bordeaux, Soltice.   Non-Spin (5 boats): 1.Chuck Eldred, Gail Force; 2.Dave Crossett, Gator.

2010 John Dworak Memorial York River Moonlight Race (a CBYRA sanctioned event)

Sailing Instructions for the 2010 John Dwarak Memorial Moonlight Race can be downloaded here.  The race is scheduled for June 25 with Yellow Fleet start sequence at 1900 and Blue Fleet start sequence at 1905.  (Contact information for the YRYC Race Captains are contained in the sailing instructions.)

This race is a CBYRA sanctioned event.

YRYC Racers Collect Some "Silverware" at SBRW

RUMBLE  Takes SBRW  BLACK SEAL CUP!    Ben Weeks and Michele Cochran of Yorktown, Virginia,  stormed Southern Bay Race Week in their J29, RUMBLE.   Sailing in the highly competitive PHRF B-1 fleet with a crew of friends from Yorktown, Seaford, and Hampton, the long time J29 racers put  together a string of  6 bullets in 7 races over three days of varying conditions.  Rumble turned in a string over 3 days of racing of 1-1-1-1-1-1-2.    Five other boats along with Rumble had outstanding performances during the regatta that earned them BOAT OF THE DAY awards.

They do more than Fife and Drum in the historic area!  Racers from the Yorktown area put the grab on the B fleets at SBRW 2010.  Mike Austin's Moving On took home top honors in B-2 and, of course, Rumble dominated B-1.  PHRF B-2 - Mike Austin, Moving On (Beneteau F8), 1-1-2-2-1-3-1
